Mark 16:6-7

Romans 8:1-4

Questions for Discussion

Getting to Know You: When in your life were you most disappointed with yourself?

  1. Compare and contrast forgiving yourself and receiving forgiveness.
  2. Share a time in your life when you received forgiveness instead of justice.
  3. Read Mark 14:66-72 together. What do you think led Peter to deny Christ three times after faithfully following Him for years?
  4. How do you think Peter felt when he heard the rooster crow?
  5. When, if ever, have you felt your failures made it impossible for you to serve Christ again? How did you overcome these feelings?
  6. Read Romans 8:1-4 together. What does this verse say about God’s forgiveness and our salvation?

Life Application: What is preventing you from accepting the forgiveness of your sins in Christ? What needs to happen for you to be free from the guilt and shame associated with your past sins?
