Acts 18:23

Questions for Discussion:

Getting to Know You: What do you like most about taking care of a garden or lawn? What do you like least?

  1. What stood out to you most about Sunday’s message presented by Mike Allard?
  2. Read 1 Corinthians 3:6–8 together. Who are the people that God has used in your life – the “Paul” who planted and the “Apollos” who watered? In whose lives have you planted or watered?
  3. The establishment of a church is sometimes referred to as “planting” a church. How is the process of starting a church like planting a garden?
  4. What are the cultural considerations when planting a church in a foreign country?
  5. What are the potential challenges of a church planter’s life? If you were starting a church, how would you prepare mentally and emotionally?
  6. What are some ways established churches, inside or outside of the country where the church is being planted, can assist in the church startup efforts?

Life Application:  This month, commit yourself to prayer for the establishment of the church in places where the Good News of Jesus is unwelcome.
