Questions for Discussion:

Getting to Know You: Which of the following best describes how you receive love from others: words of affirmation, acts of service, receiving gifts, quality time, or physical touch?

  1. What stood out to you most from Pastor Doug’s message on Sunday?
  2. What are some of your “triggers” (external stimulus that spark an intense emotional response)?
  3. Read Romans 8:5-8 together. What can we learn from this passage about being led by the Holy Spirit?
  4. What does it mean to have Jesus as Lord over our emotions?
  5. In what ways do our emotions serve us well? What are some of the ways our emotions betray us?
  6. Read Galatians 5:22. Which fruit of the Spirit are you least likely to demonstrate? Why?

Life Application: What are some of the practical steps you need to take to control your emotions?
