Questions for Discussion:
Getting to Know You: What do you like most about taking care of a garden or lawn? What do you like least?
- What stood out to you most about Sunday’s message presented by Mike Allard?
- Read 1 Corinthians 3:6–8 together. Who are the people that God has used in your life – the “Paul” who planted and the “Apollos” who watered? In whose lives have you planted or watered?
- The establishment of a church is sometimes referred to as “planting” a church. How is the process of starting a church like planting a garden?
- What are the cultural considerations when planting a church in a foreign country?
- What are the potential challenges of a church planter’s life? If you were starting a church, how would you prepare mentally and emotionally?
- What are some ways established churches, inside or outside of the country where the church is being planted, can assist in the church startup efforts?
Life Application: This month, commit yourself to prayer for the establishment of the church in places where the Good News of Jesus is unwelcome.
